Recent Juilliard graduate Michael Slattery has been a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's at Carnegie Hall. In February 2005, with the BBC Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall in London, he will sing the title role in Bernstein's Candide, a role he premiered in Rome and later covered for the New York Philharmonic. Having sung his first Mozart Requiem with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, he will soon rejoin the conductor and orchestra in performances of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde directed for the concert stage by Peter Sellars. Singing the title role in Monteverdi's Orfeo at the Chatelet Theater in 2006, Michael Slattery will return to Paris, the city where he made his European debut in a concert dedicated to the music of Leonard Bernstein with June Anderson, Lauren Bacall and the French National Orchestra. His most recent performance in Paris was as Bastien in Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne at the Cité de la Musique.

Outside his musical activities, Michael devotes much of his spare time to painting, and four of his pieces were published in the French art magazine ORAOS.
